The Twitterati have given their verdict on Boris Johnson’s big speech to Conservative party conference.
Kevin Maguire from the Mirror claimed that Johnson had been spooked by Jeremy Corbyn ‘judging by the large number of name checks’, while The New European’s Steve Anglesey couldn’t help but pick up on the former foreign secretary’s claims about ‘trust in politics.’

Others were surprised by Johnson’s claims that Labour would ‘clobber business’ after he was reported to have said ‘f**k business’ in regards to Brexit’s impact on the economy.
One tweeter compared Boris Johnson to David Miliband for inspiring swaithes of activists in their political party, but not doing enough to win the top job.

While he was able to enthuse the audience with his ‘chuck Chequers’ act, many pointed to the fact that his speech was light on detail. The leading Brexiteer has still been unable to demonstrate an effective solution for the Irish border issue.
