A radio presenter had to jump into save leading Brextremist Jacob Rees-Mogg after he claimed that Brexit was a ‘fundamental error’.
The slip-up came as the hardline leaver criticised Theresa May’s Chequers plan on LBC Radio’s Nick Ferrari programme.
Replying to Ferarri’s question about whether or not the Chequers proposal could be ‘reworked’ he replied: ‘I think not, I think Brexit is a fundamental error. I think it’s trying to do the wrong thing.’
Some were quick to seize on the comments on social media, describing his misspoken words as a ‘Freudian’ slip.

Rees-Mogg had been previously accused of ‘fraudulent’ support for Brexit after a 2011 clip re-circulated showing the Conservative MP supporting a second EU referendum.
‘You could have two referendums and, as it happens, it may be more sense to have the second referendum after the renegotiation is completed,’ he previously claimed.
