The next time you’re branded a ‘Remoaner’ by a Brexiteer on the attack this is the perfect musical retort.
With a title of ‘own your shit’ this is definitely not suitable for those of a sensitive nature, but the upbeat ukulele melody will at least put a jolly spin on a rather depressing matter.
The song has been written and produced by The New European columnist and comedian Mitch Benn.
Lines from Benn include ‘why are you still calling us Remoaners, when it’s you that’s moaning now?’ and ‘grow a pair, deal with it, own your shit.’
As the lyrics point out, the song isn’t aimed at ‘the decent people sticking up for what they believe’ but the ‘ringleaders’ of Brexit like Farage, Johnson and Gove.
The song is already gaining traction in pro-European circles on social media, and is the ideal length to remember for a rendition at the next anti-Brexit protest.
So next time you argue with a Brexiteer perhaps send them this song and tell them to ‘own your shit.’
