It was intended to be a show of strength feeling against the Brexit deal but a counterprotest organised by Unite Against Fascism and Momentum outnumbered the original protest by five to one.
At the UKIP protest some of the marchers went as far as trying to set alight to the official flag of the European Union… but they struggled because of the EU’s regulations on flammable materials.

One was caught on video attempting to pull the stunt for cameras.
The protester is seen dowsing the EU flag in lighter fluid and using a lighter to set it on fire.
After several attempts of waving the flag around and seeing the flame go out he sits down to continue his attempts.
He quietly and sheepishly leaves the platform altogether after 90 seconds.
